Lovely room with lots of personality. The welcoming and service was personal, friendly, and more than I expected.

Excellent small hotel within 5 minutes walk from Van Gough museum and Rijksmuseum. Clean and cosy rooms. Competent & very friendly staff. Highly recommended!

I picked this hotel for the great location and price, and it was essentially exactly as I expected, no more, no less. Practically next door to the Concertgebouw on a quiet street, tiny room and bathroom with old "grandma's" furniture, but clean, well-lit (skylight), and everything you need in it. Stairway up to rooms is dark and threadbare, but no big deal. Only thing wrong in my room was that the TV on/off switch wouldn't work unless a piece of cardboard was jambed into it, but I didn't even complain to hotel since the cardboard did the trick!

Lovely hotel. There were 3 of us in the room for a girls weekend away. They put a roll away bed in the room and there was still plenty of room for 3 women! The staff were great (I can't remember their names). I must say that we missed breakfast every day, so I can't tell you how it was. I would definitely stay there again.

I found the hotel well located for visiting the museums. However, our room was dark and bordered on shabby. I selected this hotel because it was represented as having a 'family room' with room for 4 to sleep. The pull out sofabed that my daughters used was over-worn, with a thin mattress on sunken springs. The ultimate purpose of a hotel is to provide a good night sleep, which wasn't possible for them. On the otherhand, the bathroom in our room was clearly new and recently remodeled. What was lacking for us in this hotel was a sense of charm or warmth. When I book into a small place, I would have expected a little more of that kind of environment. This hotel was quiet, old and subdued.

It´s a very friendly hotel. After 3 days we felt like living at home. The service is very good. The location is excellent.

Wonderful hotel, especially if you like Art Nouveau/Art Deco fixtures and furnishings. Cosy, in a very Dutch way, carpet a bit threadbare but still utterly delightful. The hosts were extremely helpful, going the extra mile (printing internet-booked tickets for us) when required. This is a very personal sort of place, so not suitable for anyone expecting large, faceless international service. We stayed in two rooms (kids in one, us in the other) and they were both spacious and quirky in decoration. One minus - no toiletries (soap dispenser on wall), so don't forget your shampoo. Good filling breakfast (but not cheap), but obviously you can do better at a cafe ('Small Talk', right up the road has great apple pie and croissants!).Excellent location near museums and tram that connects everything. Would definitely go back.

I thank the whole personnel of this excellent hotel for the wonderful stay in Amsterdam.

Breakfast is not worth the 7.50 e/pp it costs, there is a supermarket nearby where you can buy sandwiches etc. which is better and cheaper. Other than that, very satisfied with the hotel, great location near tramstop, museums and so on, but still very quiet at night. Recommended!

Our stay at Hotel Heemskerk was excellent. The staff were friendly and helpful. A lovely cosy hotel. There was also a bus stop very close by where we could get a bus back to the airport, which was very convenient.

Hotel Heemskerk is a well-kept, clean and accommodating place to stay, with a wonderful host. If you get a taxi from the airport, be sure you make it clean that you want the hotel, or, like us, you will get taken to the village of Heemskerk miles away - an expensive mistake to make. We would definitely stop here again, the breakfast is fantastic and the owner cannot do enough for you, he is wonderfully friendly and helpful.

I would stay at the Heemskerk again and recommend it to friends. The place is quaint, beautifully located and well kept. The service is professional and yet very friendly. The breakfasts were quite good. It was lucky to have found this little hotel on the internet and to be able to rely on the reviews I read online, 10 KM away.

Although the room furniture had seen better days, the jacuzzi more than made up for it. The room was cleaned everyday and the friendliness of the staff could not be bettered.

They were very nice and accomodated us when we added an extra person in our party. I think the hotel is quiet and restful in comparison to others nearby. I think the price is a little high.

A very nice typical hotel in the area of the museums. A bit far away from the centraal station, but accessible easily with tramways. Restaurants and other accomodation (shops, ...) are also available in the area. The hotel is very small (9 rooms), all decorated differently. The rooms are clean, confortable and equiped with television and shower or bath. Breakfast is quite simple but very good. The director, Norman, is very friendly. He gave us maps and all information needed for a good visit of Amsterdam, advised us good restaurants and places to visit. He welcomes everybody who comes back to the hotel. We spent two wonderful nights in Heemskerk, and we really recommend it to everybody who search for a nice and cheap hotel in Amsterdam

A nice little and quiet hotel. Staff very friendly and helpful. A bit far away from the city centre (about 10 minutes to walk), but otherwise: good value for money!
