Our room was at the top corner of the hotel. We were able to open our windows (2), one on each side of the building and be able to almost touch the Duomo, it was that close. Highly recommend the hotel for location alone. The room was good enough and the service was impecable. I'd stay there again, no question.

Great hotel, close to everything in Florence. The rooms were clean and newly decorated. The breakfast was good although they seemed to run short depending on your time of arrival for breakfast. The only criticism is noise from the street. If they do any further upgrades, I would suggest sound proof windows. We were at the front and some nights were really noisy until 2:00 am.

The Hotel Duomo was a delight. I walked from the train station and was welcomed by the staff. Room was quiet and cool and clean. Location was fantastic, you could get everywhere and stop at the hotel for a rest if needed. The breakfast in the morning was great and staff cheerful and helpful. My stay was 3 days and I would definitely stay there again.

Perfect location just near the Duomo. Rooms are new and very clean, but a little noisy from the corridors. Breakfast is a little poor. If you have car be careful, we payed 55 Euro for only 32 hours. I recommend this hotel for the ones looking for a central location and good rooms.

Recently renovated, this is a small boutique hotel right on the Duomo square. It appears to be a well-kept secret as tour guides and other locals had never heard of it before. The hotel was easy to find and is right in the heart of Florence. We had an incredible view of the dome from our room. The hotel was very charming, and the location was perfect for sightseeing. The only draw backs were (1) the tiny 2-person elevator, (2) awakening to the bells of the Duomo each morning, and (3) the shriek of sirens at all hours because the volunteer ambulance service was parked just across the piazza.

This hotel has the perfect location! You can almost reach out and touch the Duomo from the breakfast room. I also liked the security of the hotel. It is in an old office building and you take an elegant 1940-film elevator to the Piano 4 (4th floor) where the reception desk is. My room, though small, was very nicely renovated, clean and new and an excellent value for the price. Most of the staff was very pleasant, although one of the women made me feel as though I was causing her an inconvenience if I spoke to her. The other thing was that they make instant coffee!!!! in Florence!!!! it was pretty disappointing. Otherwise, I really liked this hotel and would stay again. Nice restaurants very close, and of course the Duomo.

The room was very cramped by typical U.S. hotel standards. However, it was very clean and literally across the street from the Duomo in Florence. You can't get much better than that. The bathroom was nice and the breakfast was quite satisfactory. I was pleased.

excellent convenient location, easy walking distance from everything, fantastic breakfasts, friendly staff, The only negative was pedestrian street noise at night, but with ear plugs and closing windows it was fine.

We stayed at Hotel Duomo 1 night. We found the staff to be very helpful and knowledgeable of the town. The breakfast was all you need to get your day started. Everything was clean and the beds were adequate, about as good as any other in Italy. We enjoyed our stay immensely. I would definitely recommend this hotel. Easy to walk to all museums and shopping.

Great place for a short stay in Florence. Very welcoming staff. Astonishing location: a few meters from the Duomo!

We had a wonderful time staying at the Duomo Hotel. The staff were extremely courteous and helpful. The Hotel is ideally situated within walking distance to all major attractions and dining. I stayed here for four nights together with my wife and our youngest daughter aged 12. The hotel was very impressive, located on the 4th floor across the street from the duomo. Very quiet despite the mid-city location, our three-bedded room was spacious enough, and the bathroom was also spacious and always very clean. The location is excellent, you cannot come closer to the main attractions. The staff was very helpful, no language problems, as most of them spoke english well. The breakfast was ordinary, as expected. We will definitely stay at this hotel when we come back to visit Firenze.

Perfectly located, our room faced the side of the Duomo. 10 minutes walk from the station and everything in Florence is within easy walking distance. Lift to the hotel reception on the fourth floor is small and elderly, but the hotel itself is lovely- rooms are newly and tastefully refurbished, we had an excellent bathroom (although no bath). Staff are charming. We stayed in September when it was cool enough to have the windows closed and the air con switched off- but suspect it could be noisy if you like to sleep with windows open.

Imagine our delight as we pulled back the curtains to the windows in our room and our view is filled with the beautiful colors of the Duomo itself - absolutely breathtaking. We arrived on foot from the train station, and had no trouble finding the hotel, but there was a strange man in the lobby of the hotel, sitting in front of the elevator, so we climbed the four floors up to the hotel lobby. That was the only incident, and I don't think it's a regular occurance, as the hotel staff was quick to take care of the man. Our room was just perfect, and even though I had not requested a cot for my young son, they had one made up for him. We had a wonderful breakfast every morning with many things to choose from. I would highly recommend this the Hotel Duomo!

The thing that sets The Hotel Duomo aside from other hotels in the price range is the location. You would have to move your bed into the Cathedral to be any closer to it! It was almost as if we could reach our hand out of the bedroom window and touch the walls of the Duomo. This did mean that the area was busy day and night, with tourists and touts making quite a bit of noise. We had the windows closed and aircon on due to the heat, but If we had had to open the windows I think the noise would have put us off. The room was very nicely decorated, very spacious for a european city. The hotel staff were competent, friendly and helpfull. Breakfast was more than sufficient (cereals, breads, cold cuts, cheese, patisserie, coffee, juice etc - as much as you want). The best thing about the hotel is the location, which is unbeleivably good. You can walk very easily to every attraction in Florence; Duomo&Baptistry&Giotto's Bell tower-outside your door, Uffizi-5 minute stroll, Palazzo Vecchia-5 minutes stroll, San Lorenzo-3 minutes, Palazzo Pitti-10 minute stroll. We walked from the train station to the hotel, which at 4pm in the heat and with our suitcases was not very comfortable, even though it was only about half a km away. The hotel is very easy to find - look for the dome of the Duomo!

This is the best hotel I've stayed in. Great location - amazing to be so close to the Duomo and have a view of it from the balcony. Piazza Duomo seems to be the centre of things in Florence so staying here makes everything easily accessible. Because you are so close to all the attractions it means you can go out in the morning then return to the hotel during the day to have a rest without wasting too much time. The hotel is extremely clean and the staff very helpful. Would definitely recommend staying here. I have already returned once. Great value for money.

Excellent hotel and absolutely perfect location. Hotel is on the fourth floor and there is a lift (elevator) or stairs to use to ascend (on occasion the lift was not available). Rooms are decorated in a very modern mahogany and suede type deoration. Bathroom was again very modern. The staff were always attentive and very helpful. The icing on the cake was the balcony and the view from it - the Duomo at eave height and only about 50 feet away. Hotel Duomo is so conveniently and centrally located that I often came back to it to drop purchases and gifts off, or in one case to shelter from a quick storm. All in all an excellent hotel and worth the money.

Hi, we choose hotel Duomo because of its location: just outside Brunelleschi's Duomo and Giotto's Campanile. In addition it's just few steps away from Ponte Vecchio and Piazzale della Signoria, Lots of good restaurants and shops around! Service's quality as professionalism of its employees are both of high level. Night time there may be just a little bit noisy, but.. that's Italy!

Hotel had recently been updated. Spacious rooms and bathrooms. Bed was very comfortable. The location is good and bad. Right across from Duomo, and heart of city. So, being right across from Duomo during spring break means hearing the voices from the street below. And the romantic bells of the Duomo, and nearby churches, but they also ring at night. I only wish the windows had screens on them to keep the mosquitoes out. I would stay here again, but bring ear plugs and keep the windows closed.

I cannot rate the hotel, as when I arrived on the day scheduled, construction work was in progress that prohibited our accomodation. However, management had booked an alternate room at a nearby hotel, "Hotel Cavour" at the same rate. That hotel was very satisfactory and also well-located. I would highly recommend this establishment. Meanwhile, the apology by the Duomo manager seemed genuine. He explained that the contractor performing work at his place had fallen behind. I appreciated his overall handling. My remarks concern the Hotel Cavour.

This hotel is impossible to reach by car! We followed the Italian custom of disregarding pedestrian-only signs, one-way streets, and taxi-only lanes and finally managed to get to a place to park illegally. I stayed with the car, and my husband found the poorly marked hotel on foot. The hotel is one floor of an ancient building, and it is small! The employees were nice and helpful, and the Duomo was right outside our window, too close even to photograph well. We would go again.

A super stay in a lovely, welcoming hotel with a friendly and extremely helpful staff. The room was on with a balcony facing the Duomo and we spent a lovely early evening watching the edifice change colour from white to salmon pink. Breakfast was good with as reasonable selection of typical Italian foodstuffs as any other hotel of a similar standard, although the croissants were packaged not fresh!

The hotel is very charming and comfortable. it is in a fantastic location...right next to the Duomo. It was very difficult to find. The hotel was quite adequate for a family group of 3 adults and 2 children. It was located within walking distance from hop on/hop off bus and the rail/bus terminal. Katerina was extremely helpful especially when we arrived late by handling the pickup and parking of our rental car. She was a pleasure and extremely helpful in handling any request we had. The hotel was located in the center of activity with plenty of shops, pizzarias and tratorias nearby and not far from an Internet point and wash/dry facility. One caution may be the mosquito problem from a nearby rooftop. Don't sleep with the window open if this is the case. In all likelihood I would stay in this hotel again if the occasion arose.

The location, size of the room, and view were all great. It's by no means a fancy hotel, but it was acceptable. Only complaints - 1. We asked them to make a reservation for us at the Ufizzi - they waited until too late in the day to call and we were stuck standing in line for 4 hours to get tickets. 2. The heater in the room didn't work when we came back from being out and we had to ask them to turn it back on. The view of the Duomo is the only selling point of the hotel. The staff is friendly, but not really helpful. We will stay someplace else next time.

Very good location and the front desk staff are all very helpful. They have gone the extra miles to ensure that our stay is comfortable. They prepared breaksfast for us at 7.15am (supposed to start at 8am) as we were making a day trip to Siena. On our departure day, we had to check out at 6am to catch a train to Rome for our flight and they packed our breakfast for us! We paid winter rate for the rooms which make the stay even more value for money! One of our rooms has a balcony that faces the Duomo which is fantastic. Though our rooms did get noise from the front desk, the other positive experience have made it all up. We bought our room number ceramic plaque for us to remember this wonderful hotel.

A very convenient central hotel with a good overall standard for the price.

If you are looking for a perfect place to stay I can say no more!!!! We had a wonderful stay at Hotel Duomo. The rooms were very nice and we could hear the Duomo bells--they were not annoying at all because they didn't ring all the time. We enjoyed our stay at Hotel Duomo and in Florence. I will go there again and Hotel Duomo will be my choice of stay there. They also have room number plaques you can buy to commemorate your stay. Done by a local artist who does work around the city. I cannot say enough. The people were nice, the room was great--we had one room for 3---very big overlooking the Duomo Piazza and our son had a room for 2 overlooking Florence. It was just neat is all I can say. Go there. Stay there.

GREAT LOCATION & SURROUNDING. BUT UNFORTUNATELY , VERY NOISY FROM OTHER ROOMS AND OUTSIDE !!! ROOM WAS QUITE SMALL ! BUT CANNOT COMPLAIN BECAUSE RESONABLE PRICE AND GREAT LOCATION. IF THE BREAKFAST HAS MORE CHOICES , COULD BE DIFFERENT !

The view of the Duomo from the bedroom was pretty spectacular, but the noise from the street (night-club music, people shouting and screaming and fighting, sirens etc) was deafening and continued for most of the night, each night.

Whenever my travels bring me to Florence, I try to stay at Hotel Duomo. It's conveniently located, clean, the staff is always friendly and helpful and it is a great value.

I requested a room with a view of the Duomo and I got it! Our room had a huge window that faced the Duomo and you could hear the bells every time they ring. The room was huge! The service was very friendly and helpful and the location was excellent! Just one request to the owners though: The hotel really needs a facelift. I noticed some of the paint in the bathroom were peeling and the furniture had seen it's better days.

I was given a room with a view of the Duomo initially, which was rather noisy and situated behind the front desk. The staff was very accommodating of my request to switch rooms without any hesitation. The only problem was not having a separate showerstall in the bathroom.
